What is it?
Bullying is aggressive, intentional and repeated behaviour in which there is a power imbalance between the one who attacks and the one attacked. It can be physical, verbal or exclusion, and cyberbullying takes it to social media and group chats, where it does not stop at the school gate.
Signs and symptoms
The signs of bullying in a child or teenager are refusing to go to school, aches with no cause, falling grades, withdrawal, damaged or missing belongings, changes in sleep and unexplained sadness. With cyberbullying, you notice the nervousness when they look at their phone.
How we help
Psychological support for bullying helps the child or teenager talk about what happened, rebuild self-esteem and know how to react and whom to ask for help. We guide parents on what to do and how to talk to the school. Online therapy in English, by video call, with an English-speaking therapist: for people in Portugal and for expats, wherever you live in Europe.
